NORTHWOOD ZONING CODE

Responsibilities
The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for reviewing new development plans, issuing permits and inspecting properties for compliance with the City of Northwood Zoning Code.  The department also works with the Planning Commission to review new industrial and commercial development, along with residential subdivisions, conditional uses and makes zoning change recommendations.  Variance requests and appeals of the Zoning Code are presented by the department to the Board of Zoning Appeals.  Department personnel also attend meetings and provide assistance, as needed, to the Economic Development Committee.

In support of City Council, the Zoning Department enforces the City of Northwood Zoning Code adopted to protect and promote the public health, safety, morals, comfort, convenience, prosperity and welfare within the Municipality.




***SPECIAL***

On 12/10/2018 - The Planning Commission made the recommendation to Council to approve amending the Northwood Planning & Zoning Code Sections 1222, 1240.06, 1247, 1250 and 1275 with modifications to promote the development / redevelopment of areas within the Woodville Mall ("Enclave") Great Eastern overlay District and the Central Buisness District. (Reference Ordinance 2018-53).
